boy has this weird notion that i need to actually *eat* food to survive. silly boy, he knows that i do eat. i just eat and sleep in cycles. for example, i had one meal sunday, one and a half yesterday, and i've had a nut-thin thus far today. it's winter-time, where i go for days with no food or sleep, then i eat a lot and sleep for two-three days. i'm a hibernating creature, silly monkey boy!

okay, in all seriousness, i need to jump start my appetite. i don't feel like standing and cooking, which is the problem. i don't feel like eating, i don't feel like expending energy on chewing food. i'm craving taco bell, but i'm trying to be good and eat better food. of course, when i eat at taco bell, it's wheat-free and today is a wheat-free day.

maybe i can convince myself to make some (rice) Penne & Chreese.

i really want strawberry shortcake, too, but i only make wheat shortcakes.

So, the WomBAT dinner Sunday night was quite nice. [livejournal.com profile] computerchix and [livejournal.com profile] aliciar arrived at my house around 5pm. We wandered around downtown for a bit, then came back here to grab the baklazhani and strawberries. We picked up Tom (he was at band practice with [livejournal.com profile] nothingoth and [livejournal.com profile] solieri and headed to [livejournal.com profile] red_frog's.

[livejournal.com profile] jb98 and [livejournal.com profile] illandaria were taking a break from kitchen duties. Magi is very adept at putting guests to work and making them feel useful. We all chatted for a bit, then had a lovely dinner of flank steak (well, I didn't eat that, but I'm sure it was good), roasted potatoes, asparagus and peppers, baklazhani, and pappadums. There was wine and good chitchat. (I'm not sure [livejournal.com profile] explodingcat talked at all, but [livejournal.com profile] illandaria remembers his voice, so I guess he did. That should help convince [livejournal.com profile] eilonwy that he really *does* exist.)

We had a dessert of strawberries and amaretto whipped cream. Quite yummy.

Around 10, we all set off, stumbling up Magi's back steps of doom. Back at our house, Toni, Al, Tom, and I chatted for a bit, then dragged in bed stuff for the two WomBATs and took ourselves all off to bed. Woke up bright and early (10ish) for coffee, tea, etc, then I mucked about while the others showered (I'd done that the night before because of the cats). Toni, Al, and I walked downtown, where we met up with Magi and Tom. Bashir's was tasty, as usual. The working folks headed back after lunch while the three of us left wandered in and out of shops. I chatted for a bit at Higher Grounds with [livejournal.com profile] mrjustice and [livejournal.com profile] orientallilly, then a bit more with [livejournal.com profile] ez_mo and [livejournal.com profile] babyrapture.

Eventually, my period slammed me on the ass and knocked my head against a wall, so I went home. Toni and Al left for DC around 3pm and had more adventures I'm sure we'll read about later.

It was good to see [livejournal.com profile] computerchix again and good to meet [livejournal.com profile] aliciar (and see pictures of her boys!), [livejournal.com profile] jb98, and [livejournal.com profile] illandaria. It's especially nice to know there are other wombats who live not too far away (Richmond *isn't* all that far...). Seeing [livejournal.com profile] red_frog was just plain awful. I don't know how I manage to do it so often. ;) It's like we live in the same town or something. You'd think we meet regularly for tea...

So... Our next out of town friend will be [livejournal.com profile] indyansel, tomorrow. He's not staying with boy and me, but I'm going to help entertain him to keep him out of Magi's hair while she works. [livejournal.com profile] nothingoth and [livejournal.com profile] xiane have an interesting photo expedition tentatively planned, Dan. Should be fun. :) If you're not into dead building exploration, I'll try to convince Chad to save that for Tim's visit.

I think our next overnight visitor will be [livejournal.com profile] twilight_spirit. Tim, how long will you be here and what do you want to do?
so... we've eaten Penne & Chreese LOTS. recently, the packaging changed. a quick glance over the ingredients revealed nothing extraordinary, though the ingredients seemed to have changed a bit.

the texture and taste isn't as good as it used to be. and now it makes my lips burn and itch horribly. needless to say, i dropped the bowl and ran to spit and wash out my mouth thoroughly.

wasn't quick enough. now i have itchy blisters.

*sigh*

as if that wasn't bad enough, i managed to get ahold of soy at some point yesterday or the day before and broke out in that damn dishydrotic eczema crap. i think it might've been one of the free weeklies i was reading. some newspresses use soy ink... i was reading The Hook while waiting for boy. i was reading in the car, so i was *holding* the paper in my hands. normally, i put the paper on the floor or a table and read it while turning it with just a finger or two and i wash my hands frequently.

*sigh*

i'm itchy.

i hate allergies.
