Many, many birthdays I have missed.

I debated whether or not I should catch up. After all, is it insulting that I didn't bother to do these on the day they occurred? Then I decided, heck... why not at least give good wishes. I fell behind when [livejournal.com profile] ismene came to visit and just didn't get back in the habit. On the occasions I had time to scan my friends page, I mentally wished folks birthday vibes, but I was lazy/busy and didn't post my own wishes.

So. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Starting on the 17th of May...
[livejournal.com profile] tomvx I don't know you well, but I wish you a very happy birthday. We saw Tomahawk recently. Are you going to manage to see this latest tour?

19 May:
[livejournal.com profile] shanspice When I think of the old list, I giggle.
[livejournal.com profile] wrdgrrl Yes, you're one of the most cynical optimists I know, which only reaffirms my believe in your coolness. Happy birthday, and don't forget to wear flowers in your hair.
[livejournal.com profile] whereisbeck You seem to be MIA. I miss hearing from you.

25 May
[livejournal.com profile] mery_bast You'll make a very cool crazy old cat lady someday.
[livejournal.com profile] aeporia You'd make a great crazy old cat lady, too, but you're really just my favoritest gothboi EVER. *running and ducking*

27 May
[livejournal.com profile] aliciar Garden variety evil... hmmm, is this something I can grow in my garden?

1 June
[livejournal.com profile] annaoj Shouldn't you be working on your dissertation?

4 June
[livejournal.com profile] wiseheron I hope your birthday was enjoyable. Did you ride your bike? Bake your cake? Have a bite for me. And give all your various pets a hug or pat for me.
[livejournal.com profile] bandhiaduit Being laid off sucks, but I hope this didn't prevent you from having fun yesterday. I hope you danced in your dining room and giggled at the cracks in the ceiling and ate chocolate.
I just did some dishes. There are still more to do, but I'll do them after boy gets around to putting away the ones in the rack.

boy is sitting outside playing with his twanger and reading a .Net book.

It's pretty out today. I might do some gardening. My tomatoes have blossoms!

The landlord called. We set up a day for him to come turn off the gas (next Sunday). Then, a week from this coming Monday, a new stove will be delivered! YAY! It will be nice to have a new stove. Our current (fifty-year old) range is nice and big and chrome, but the oven is very tiny and temperamental. My pizza pans/stone won't fit in it and it takes at least half an hour to heat up to 350F. Furthermore, it doesn't have built in exhaust fans. We have to turn on an exhaust fan separately (vents from the kitchen to outside) in order to prevent the whole house from heating up and the smoke detector from going off.

Our venus flytrap is eating LOTS. These little tiny gnats love it and they get eaten at the rate of 3-5 or more a week. Go get 'em, Killer Calliope!

Oops. AC kicked in, better go shut it off, since the doors are open.

Then I'll put in my eyes and go outside. Mmmm, garden.
mosquitoes: 2
me: 2

gah. stupid bugs. stupid sun. stupid pollen. stupid crabgrass.

i'm now covered in spots and hives. (okay, just two mosquito spots, but the rashes are spreading...)

in other news, i'd like to request the presence of [livejournal.com profile] xiane at some point to help me identify a flower/plant. it's not in my book o'wildflowers.

gah. give the mosquitoes another point.

and i missed this one.

i did, however, get more beans mounded and planted. and i just killed a mosquito. damn asian tiger mosquitoes will bite ANYTHING.
