well, time to get ready to go up to DC. feeling achy and blah. boy says he can do the driving, which is good.

need to shower and pack an overnight bag. oh, i should call fil or jonah to see what kind of linens/sleeping bags i should toss in.

my friend Joe, from high school, is on an epic tour of the Far East.

to say i envy him would be an understatement, but i'm also incredibly excited for him. joe's a good storyteller, so the next time i actually see him (not often, as his home base has been california for a few years), i expect to be mesmerized by his tales of adventure. until then, i have his website. fortunately, he (so far) updates frequently and provides pictures, allowing the rest of us to live vicariously through him.
