we met a very friendly cedar waxwing while watching the sun set over a lovely crest from 20-minute cliffs. the bird was incredibly friendly. i was surprised at how fearless it was.

there was also a very small, but noisy, colony of black crowned night herons. i didn't expect to see them that far inland... dc has 'em around the bird house at the zoo.

and i've dubbed them monkeybirds.

bah. have headache. can't sleep like this.

*sigh*
