EVERY year, the perseids mock me.

gorgeous weather leading up to the peak. then, the night of... partly cloudy to mostly cloudy. never completely cloudy. i could accept that... but partly cloudy doesn't deter me from going out and feeling disappointed.

grrrr.

now i live where i can see them, so i didn't have to drive an hour or two out of DC to spot a few through the clouds. at least i have that one saving grace. if it clears up towards morning, i'll go out.

the sky may be obscured by haze and random clouds, but the bats are much closer and easier to see. wheeee! bats eating moths on my porch! woohoo! bats in my yard! yay! bats flying two inches in front of my face! EEEEK! HUZZAH!

boy and i spent a romantic half hour outside watching (and cheering for) the bats. *bliss*
