well, they're letting me go home... two days early! w00t!
the doctor is sending me home with 'scripts for duragesic (fentany) patches (non-latex and i'm willing to put up with minor skin irritaton for a few weeks) and dilaudid pills (on an as needed basis).
he said i've healed well.. agreed that the few nights i was without adequate pain relief shouldn't have happened. he's a cool doctor. he'll also see how to write up te requests for the lupus and porphyria panels.
my own GP stopped by the morning. i was standing in my doorway, nursing a bottle of tangerine juice. she was looking curiously at the nurse station, as if she wasn't sure if that's how she would find what she wanted. at the last second, she looked up to see who she was about to run into. me. ;)
she talked with me about me. i talked with her about tom. she said he should call her on her direct line ASAP. i explained my feelings about the naturopath and talked about acupuncture, etc.
then boy's acupuncturist called. i talked to HER about him. then boy's mom called.. then my mom called. finally, i was able to get online.
oh, around 8, my day nurse gave me another syringeful of fentanyl. this stuff is great. turns me into a narcoleptic. i fall asleep at the puter, while reading, while sitting on the toilet, while walking... horribly amusing. i won't be driving for awhile.
i'm waiting for boy to arrive with my shower stuff (shampoo). doctor said i could have a shower! i just asked if i could at LEAST wash my grimy hair. he said i can wash the whole shebang if the nurse would wrap my iv site in plastic and re-dress the various sites on my back.
yeah! cleanliness!
boy is here now. yummy. he couldn't find safe shampoo for me, though. :( and he didn't bring ours. *pout*
ah, well. i can wash my grimy hair later. yippee!
*nodding off*
