i had a long day.

since i took a nap yesterday, i had trouble sleeping last night. i wasn't too eager to get up at 7:30am. boy finally said the magic words--chocolate cake--and i bounded out of bed. i didn't get cake, though... made cream of wheat... eventually, i managed to get out the door... just in time to spend an hour and a half in traffic (that's really a NASTY traffic day). went to georgetown, gave them some of his blood, got him to work... hung around at work with him to make sure he wouldn't pass out or anything...

he exchanged emails with a couple friends of mine... after a couple hours, i was on my way to ballston, where i sat and had lunch with two good friends. it was a lovely TMI/kvetch/laugh/vent fest... the usual with us. ;)

after lunch, i went home... rested a bit... went out and bought the aforementioned meat for boy... came home... waited for another friend to show up... took off to pick up boy... came home, had dinner... watched tv and videos... fed friend cake and ice cream (lots and lots)... said goodnight...

full day... not a terribly exciting day on paper, but a very fulfilling day in person.

:)

i'm very tired now and should probably go to bed. mmmm. bed. i hope i sleep well and long tonight.
when boy came to kiss me goodbye this morning, i asked him for alleve and a glass of water. when he said the bus was due any second, i told him to run for it and not worry about him. next thing i know, he's there with a glass of water and the alleve bottle.

i love him. without that, i'd have probably lapsed into a nasty TMJD migraine. once those start, not much will alleviate them... but they can be prevented (sometimes) with rest and anti-inflammatories.

turns out his bus was late, too. :)

when i awoke four hours later, i had a piece of chocolate cake.

and my neck hurts. i slept on it poorly again. ah, well. better than a migraine. :)

it's late

I really hate the days when handling a paperback is out of the question, nevermind a softcover or hardback. Heavy, dusty, cumbersome, painful...

I've been reduced to re-reading second and third-rate vampire fiction (and worse). I could quite easily lose my mind in this stuff--the literary equivalent of a black velvet artist who only copies rococo artists.

Someone save me... please.
