i think i have a floor in here

I run the CFS-20s listserv (with the help of my Board of Directors). It's a longstanding support list for twentysomethings who have CFIDS/ME/Fibro, their caregiviers, and their significant others. We've had some changes in Boardmembers' email addies, duty switches, etc, so I contacted our webguy (the former listowner) about it. And he discovered that NBCi is going to stop hosting webpages in the next couple of days.

NBCi.com didn't email anyone. They didn't post this in an easy to find location. He was looking through the support pages to see why the site wasn't accepting his updates. And he found the notice buried deep within the labrynthine twists of NBCi support pages. He's a great guy--he's already got the back-up on another site. Meanwhile, webguy, board, and I have been emailing all the folks who have CFS-20s listed on their sites. Since it's an old and well-established list, there are references all over the web.

And that's what I've been doing this morning--updating the welcome and farewell messages, the mail template, the list header, emailing some of the folks who've listed CFS-20s.

This all enables me to avoid cleaning my apartment. It's a horrid mess. I can't see the floor, and I'm not sure I want to know what it looks like. Of course, I won't be able to sleep well again until it's clean. I'm not sure why, but a messy house prevents my mind from working properly. And I'm not exactly a tidy person.

Cleaning is consuming me...Mike informed me that his parents will likely be visiting us next weekend, and my idea of "clean" is very different from Mike's idea of "clean," and neither of them is quite as clean as Mike's mom's idea of "clean." Needless to say, we've got a long, long way to go. Good luck!

a blindfold helps...

Before my parents visited last week, I cleaned the bathroom and the kitchen. I explained that I'd had houseguests for the previous month and a half and/or had been out of town, plus the AC was broken most of that six weeks. I don't clean when it's hot.

They didn't care, though they tried to help me clean. I suggested we go for a drive, instead. ;)

My in-laws say they don't care, but I have an obsessive need to have an immaculate abode when they visit. Maybe I'll just cover everything with sheets and hope the floor doesn't crunch.
