well, i tried to go outside and pull weeds/grass. it was too tiring. i couldn't get comfortable (bad pain day) on the ground or the gravel, i was getting itchy (damn grass), and it was BRIGHT outside. so i came inside to read the paper, but that got to me (damn soy ink/ink fumes). and i was feeling antsy

so, despite being horribly tired, i did the dishes. i actually feel better. standing helped my sinuses clear a bit. i should probably go dig out my antihistamines and some aleve, but i'm back to being too tired to move, too bored to rest. doing some work helps me sleep better, but actually doing the work can be exhausting to the point of not being able to do anything, including sleeping.

there are a few left (i subsequently cleaned out the fridge, which allowed boy to add to his golem-in-progress under the tree), but i did a lot of 'em. still need to finish the stock pot, the fridge dishes, and the pitcher... oh, and the thermos we took to the music festival.

i also helped boy feed a really big grasshopper on the porch. feeding grasshoppers is fun. they MUNCH a lot of leaves pretty quickly. i'm glad we're not suffering a plague of locusts.

boy says we can go for a drive when he's done mowing the yard.

who wants to give me a recipe for guacamole? i have two perfectly ripe avocados (the dark brownish green kind) that are begging for guacy goodness. i also have quite a few perfectly ripe tomatoes. i have one habanero pepper, but i'll fetch more (and milder) peppers when we go for a drive. any other ingredients (NO CILANTRO) can be fetched during that drive, if i don't already have 'em.

has anyone ever roasted habaneros? i'm guessing they would mellow out a bit, but retain some fire. i'd like to use it in some soup, but not if it turns my tasty veggie and pinto stew into fiery salsa. ;)

i've been very headachy the last few days. it's a mix of TMD and sinus, so there's not a lot i can do beyond what i already do to cope. and i need new sunglasses, so that plays into things, too. brightness is bad. scratched lenses are bad. bleagh.

guacamole. that would be good. very good. want.

Some chopped tomato, minced yellow onion, a good squeeze of lime juice, some salt, some minced garlic, and I use mild green chili and a dash of Tabasco, but you might want to put the habanero in there and skip tht Tabasco if you want it hot, and that's pretty much it. I don't use cilantro in guacamole, either.

I knew you'd come to the rescue. ;)

[livejournal.com profile] krasota, this is generally known in our region as the best guacamole there is. [livejournal.com profile] cassidyrose's sweetie [livejournal.com profile] catzen pretty much skips the chips and uses a spoon for it.

All these recipes from [livejournal.com profile] klwalton... I'm just going to have to force her to cook at least once on one of my trips to the bay area ;-)

Why don't you and Toni plan on coming here for an early dinner on Sunday? Doesn't she get a late flight home?

Twist my arm! Thanks for the invitation! I have to drop her off at SFO for a 12:50am Monday departure. I know she wants to go to the dance workshop in SF with [livejournal.com profile] cassidyrose sometime on Sunday, so I'll double-check timing on that when she gets back from Louisville tonight, and get back to you via e-mail.
