does anyone want to tell me what kind of spider this is?

she's getting bigger. her yellow spots on her belly are BRIGHT. she used to have very bright blue spots on her legs.

this spider would fit comfortably on my palm were i willing to get that close without collapsing into a pile of terrified goo.

boy took those pics. i cringed and tilted the screen way back when cropping the pics so i didn't have to freak out over the big, evil, spider pictures. for a reward, he's going to give me a foot rub and put out. YAY!

Ugh! I hate spiders, but felt compelled to clickity clack away.
I have no idea what spider that is, but I'd like to call it the "stay away from me" spidey, thanks.

oh my god! King Chango is going to be there, that rocks! They had a song on MTV's 120 minutes that I saw once called 'Melting Pot.' It was *very* amusing. Latin ska ... heh.

"Listen to me baby, listen to my song
I want to dance the cha cha with you all night long...."

And it ends with this cool disco breakdown. Too funny.

Richard Cheese has a new album out and will be touring very shortly.

Ooops ... right idea, wrong post. And that *is* one ugly-ass spider. That thing better be long gone when I come to visit. :P

yep - argiope, definitely. most likely argiope aurantia, or the yellow/golden garden spider. (only minimal scary pics in that link.) it's a female, she's likely to get bigger and brighter, she can bite but only if her web is disturbed, you can get even closer pics, and she's likely to make cool decorations in her web :>

i was gonna say, *garden spider* (without all of the fancy names) :) we used to have these in our barns all summer long...don't kill 'em...they eat skeeters and other icky lil buggies. they don't bother folks, but are extremely hard to remove from long curly hair....oh yes they are. *shudder again*

i don't kill spiders. she's outside, too. she does make nifty decorations in her web, zig-zags and such... i'm not quite sure why, since her web is very low to the ground, so nothing is likely to fly into it. ;)

she looks like charlotte

Oh, she's gorgeous!!!! Some species of orb-weaver, I think?

I had one for a while that was black and orange (perfectly halloween-colored). Orb-weavers are just beautiful!
