i'm in new jersey.

the buick's AC compressor went kaput about half an hour north of charlottesville on wednesday.

*sigh*

this is something that must be repaired before driving back to virginia.

i want it repaired. driving 3+ hours on two 100-degree days with high humidity is a circle of hell i don't wish to re-experience.

but damn...

the compressor is an expensive part.

and the garages i've called so far are closed or booked through next week.

my in-laws are at the beach. we found the keys to dad's car, so we can drop our car off somewhere IF we can find a garage which will take it.

:(

i think i'll write about the king show and the joy of seeing friends some other time. right now i'm too upset to be happy.

What the hell is up with all these failing/non-existant air conditioners this summer?! It appears that everyone in Ottawa doesn't have an air conditioner in their homes/apts, and everyone here in the States have failed air conditioners in their cars. Including us. (Failed a/c in our minivan...probably needs a new shot of freon or ozone-friendly substitute)

Anyway, I'm thinking of ya. Hope you can get your a/c fixed, if not, hope your return trip goes well w/o it. :(
