rootofnewtlast night, i noticed that it *hurt* to breathe.
when i lie down, it's worse.... to the point of excruciating. it's marginally better on my stomach.
so i spent the night waking up crying and gasping for breath. and thinking "NOT AGAIN."
i have too many damn holes in my various membranes for there to be anything like pleurisy or (x forbid) pericarditis again... yet, it HURTS. and i didn't really have a good explanation...
so i went to the doctor today. he said everything sounds good. he suspects i pulled some scar tissue and the pain is being referred to my shoulder.
even so, since i *did* have fluid in my lungs post-surgery and i have so many damn allergies, the doc ordered x-rays.
i went down and got them this evening. hopefully the doc is right. i really suspected scar tissue--that stuff can hurt like hell.
and yes, i probably shouldn't have gone on ANYTHING rated over a 1 at the amusement park. oh, well.
the doc also told me to take as much naproxen as i want. ;) he said it's worth a try and that if this is scar tissue, that should work.
for now, i'm happy--the musical buffy is on.

Date: 2002-07-02 08:23 pm (UTC)Maybe this will cheer you up. I'm apparently so uncoordinated that I managed to pull some major abdominal muscle in one of my dance classes last week. For three days, it hurt to breathe, cough, swallow, and burp. Then it stopped hurting.
You HAVE to be feeling well tomorrow night. No options, there, missy. ;)
