rootofnewtfreak day at paramount's king's dominion.
mmm, fun.
as always, the 150 freaks (goths, punks, fetish folk, pagans, whatnot) chanting "kill, kill" or "die, die" or "two walk in, one walks out" while in line for the bumper cars remains the highlight of the day.
boy and i spent most of our time in the water park. we went on some of the more sedate attractions (a tube slide, a flat loop tube floating "river") to accomodate boy's need for less adrenaline. i went on some of the tall, fast, and steep slides. those are the ones with the shortest lines. ;) we spent a little time in the wave pool, but it was really crowded and freaking boy out.
i didn't go on any coasters for once. normally, i'm a coaster freak. this year, however, i knew i'd have to drive home, so i didn't want to risk a migraine or neck pain. my neck freaks out easily and hurts like hell until i can get a decent week-long massage. that wasn't gonna be an option, so i skipped out.

aeporia and i did go on one of the big log flume rides. we sat in front and ducked the big splash, which kept us slightly damp and soaked the folks behind us. in penance, we stood in the danger zone on the observation deck. i nearly lost my sunglasses. solid wall of water goes "knock jos back!"
i chatted a little with charlie, met some new people, and talked briefly withashbet. it was nice. :)
i'm all showered and clean now. i have some sores, but i can't tell if they're sun lesions or soy hives. i have a very slight burn that won't peel. i wore my sunblock like a good girl.
the park was super crowded. it usually is on a summer weekend. freak day, however, always coincides with Kingsfest--a huge day-long christian rock concert festival.
yes. a couple hundred People In Black with mohawks, piercings, pentacles, goats' heads, and tall boots. some are no doubt christian, but there are a lot of pagan, atheist, and heathen folk in attendance. and the common form of greeting is a bellowed "FREAK!" it's fun, even if the music is less than ideal everywhere but the waterpark (surf music rocks).
i'm tired. i think i'll go to bed early.
first, i'll have boy rub some lotion into my shoulders.
