Sports in which animals are routinely euthanized should be banned. It's not very sporting to have to shoot the runner-up, you know? That's just sick.

I'm told it occasionally happens locally at Foxfield, too. One of the jumps can't be adjusted and horses sometimes fall. Who the frell runs their horse on a chase that may be too high/whatever? These sickos should be shot.

It's really sad. I guess maybe that's what happens when you breed horses for extreme speed to the exclusion of other traits, maybe their skeletons aren't as strong as they should be. I'd feel pretty bad if I pushed my horse to the point where it broke its legs just running without any sort of collision or fall or anything.
