So . . . after the dentist, we wandered over to AU, where we surprised our old coworkers and hung out with Fil. We then went to Tenley, where we surprised our old friends (who now also work for AU).

I hadn't eaten all day, so I grabbed a few things to eat at Whole Foods there, then we took Izzy home. Her apartment is cute and perfectly located near the Cathedral--easy walking distance to lots of good stuff. We walked to dinner, where Fil rejoined us. Got ice cream and coffee, walked back, said goodbye to Izzy, took Fil home. Then we drove home. Ronan fell asleep before we got out of town, so Tom pulled over on Foxhall and I jumped in the driver's seat.

Eye fatigue got me around Culpeper. I let Tom take over. We got in just after midnight.

Very long day, but it was good to see old friends.

I'm glad you had a good time!

(Sorry for the belated comment previously. I was reading up my friends list.)

I did't see you post about being in DC until today, but I work across from the Cathedral.... And was waiting out traffic. I would have rather had coffee than worked more. =) I'm sorry I missed you.

Cool! Traffic was crazy heavy. We got preoccupied and didn't leave until 10pm and while traffic was flowing smoothly with no bottlenecks on I-66, it was majorly heavy for that time of night.

Next time, there should be more notice. I'll probably try to come up on a Tuesday sometime to go to the Zoo. I would also like to come on a Thursday when the galleries are open later.

The main obstacle to my DC trips is the urchin. He dislikes the car, so I have to sit in back with him. Makes it difficult to drive. :/

aw..you were 2 blocks from my parents (and the house I grew up in) - just on the other side of Nebraska on Albemarle.

One thing I don't miss about DC is the quality of the roads. (Foxhall being a perfect example)
