The traffic/volume/backups/rush hour today?
Hell.
We left the house at 12:30. Left C'ville at twenty past one (stops for Sammy Snacks, dog food, WFM lunch grab). Projected ETA? 6:08.
Then we hit the faux construction north of Culpeper. That cost us at least half an hour, landing us in DC at 4:00 instead of 3:30. It makes all the difference, especially on a Friday. It took us two hours to get from Connecticut Ave on 495 to the Harbor Tunnel in Baltimore. And then more volume stop-and-go until we got north of Baltimore.
Arrived at our stop on the NJTP around 8:30, decided to hit WFM here before we got comfy at the house. Now I don't have to fight Saturday morning grocery crowds.
I'm showered now. Fed.
I might need more wine.
In other news, I miss my fuzzy blue-leopard cat's eye sunglasses. I wonder if I can find some like that again. It's been ages. I think I bought them at Cha-Chas long before I moved to C'ville.

Date: 2007-11-17 09:15 am (UTC)Just had a hard cider meself. Gah, that DC traffic report reminded me of 9 months of living my life around rush hour on frequent DC/Culpeper runs. The difference between 3:30 and 4 is gargantuan indeed. Ick. I so don't miss that.

Date: 2007-11-17 03:12 pm (UTC)Last Thanksgiving I had a doctors appointment and we left from there to go to LI. It's supposedly a 10 hour drive. I think last year it took us 16 hours. It took 5 hours from this side of DC to the other. It was crazy.
Glad you go there okay.

Date: 2007-11-19 08:18 pm (UTC)That pseudo construction was supposed to be done, but yeah, we got stuck in it on the way home from Bethesda last month... left DC at noon and barely made it back to Crozet by 4.
