Dinner tonight was quiche (turkey bacon, onion, cheeeeeeses, asparagus) and some baguette-y goodness.

I also made a chicken curry for later this week. In the pressure cooker. Yum.

We trekked to DC yesterday to see [livejournal.com profile] flynnk and [livejournal.com profile] cuppe and their little one, who is a few months younger than Ronan. It was awesome to see them. We'll try to meet up again in November, up in NJ/PA.

After the baby summit, we hightailed it to NoVA to crash a party some old college friends were throwing. Said hello to many people, including [livejournal.com profile] praxisloki and [livejournal.com profile] quix and their lovely significant others. Dunno who else has LJ accounts. Lots of old friends there, though. It was good to see everyone. The baby was a hit. I'll download pics of R in his lobster pot sooner or later.

Coming home, I tried to drive, but Ronan wouldn't have it. So I pulled over at Edsall Road and we got gas. Tom drove to Woodbridge while I nursed Ronan. He was sound asleep when we switched drivers and I got us home around 1:30am.

Today was spent relaxing, in theory. We went to WF, the bird store, and Starbucks--but that was all one stop. Came home, said, "ugh, don't wanna do stuff."

Tom went to get the dog. I caught a headache. Ronan napped.

Eventually we made dinner. Ronan is now demanding sustenance, so off I go.

I'm very, very tired. We got little sleep Friday night. And got home late last night. Ronan let us sleep in til 10 this morning, but it's just not enough. Tonight will be an early night.

Please excuse me butting into your journal, but could I ask you how you managed to nurse your baby in the car? I'm guessing he's in a rear-facing seat so I suppose I can envisage it being possible if not easy? There were definitely times I could have done with being able to do that, but it just didn't occur to me it was possible (and it may become relevant again in future.) Thanks for your help ;-)

(And of course feel free to screen or delete this comment/your reply, or reply by email if you prefer - address in my profile - and I quite understand if you'd rather not reply at all!)

Yes, he's rear-facing.

I have really big (http://pics.livejournal.com/krasota/pic/0009ksak/g43), elastic boobs. In the Crown Vic, he's on the rear passenger side, so I sit in the middle (which is slightly elevated), on a sciatica wedge cushion, with the lap belt on. I just lean over and flop the boob in. Super easy.

In the Buick, it's harder, since he's in the middle and I'm on the side (which is a bench seat, but slightly bucketed). I have to put the shoulder belt behind me and lean up and brace myself on the front seat.

Wow, go boobs ;-) Mmmn, might not work for me, but I admit I never thought of just using the lap bit of the seat-belt, doh, so it'd be worth a try. Thanks very much!
