I saw sesame bagels from Against the Grain Gourmet today. A quick read of the ingredients gave me no worry. They seemed to be similar to pão de queijo (Chebe Bread)--tapioca starch + cheese.

So I bought 'em. Toasted one, spread it with cream cheese.

Great flavor, nice texture. It's more flaky than a bagel is--not really dense, but softer and airier. In fact, it's a lot like chebe bread. It's really darn good. The sesame flavor really comes through, probably because it has both sesame seeds and sesame oil.

I'll probably buy them again, because convenience food is hard to pass up. But I might try making a sesame chebe the next time we make it.

Cool!

There's a local bakery around here selling teff rolls at ungodly prices, but they're so good.
