rootofnewtsomeone asked me about grapevines recently. i can't remember where the question is, nor who asked. sorry about that. *blush*
anyhow, i know very little about grapes. i expect this will change in the next few years, since i now live in virginia's scenic wine country.
anyhow, i found this grapevine site. i hope it's useful. fwiw, the bumps mentioned in the question reminded me of some kind of gall. maybe you can find out more?v
