My belly has finally outpaced my boobs. Although this isn't the best angle to see that. (Clean, wet poodle next to me!)

Today. The scar under my arm is from the pericardial window I had five years ago. I can't believe it's been that long!

Cool!

Where did you get black maternity jeans that don't suck?!?!

The jeans are Old Navy under the waist maternity stretch jeans. They're just starting to be a tiny bit uncomfortable while sitting--the seam hits me right above the pubic bone, which means that if I sit, the urchin protests vigorously.

The black cotton-stretch capris I wore today (not visible) are from goodwill, but they're Due. I think that's JC Penney's line, right? They have a wider band (less constricting) and a drawstring (side knot, but I don't touch it).

The jeans do require a bella band to stay up . . . I think I'll be able to wear them for a little while post-partum with a bella band, though. I've worn them on a near daily basis since I bought them sometime last fall . . . since they're stretch, they start falling off my ass (http://www.explodingcat.com/jocelyn/jospreggo23w1d.jpg) after about five days . . . . ;) They bounce back just fine after a wash and a warm or cool dry.

my goodness look at that baby belly!! And you are looking really well. I think I started reading your journal about six or eight months before that surgery, I remember at one point you couldn't hardly eat anything....it's so wonderful that your health has improved so greatly. I mean, I know the allergies are still a nightmare, but you seem so much better these days, I'm so glad to see it. I can't wait to see the squidlet!!

Beautiful belly! (no stretchmarks!)

And uhm. Your boobs look huge. I am NOT looking forward to maternity boobs. Or nursing boobs. Or nursing bra's.

I just bought like 6 new bra's and I'm already filling them out a bit more. I'd really like to avoid buying nursing bra's since.. well I cant find them in a 38 I (which is my size NOW!). NO idea what it's going to be in November.

Yeah. Bravado only goes up to H. I think Motherwear (http://www.motherwear.com/prod.cfm/cid/54/sid/6270) has some larger sizes.

This reminds me, I need to order from DE. I figure I'll get a 34I (or maybe a J) right now in a nursing bra (lined, cotton/lycra, racer back) and then see how much more I need when my milk comes in. their closures on the nursing bras only come in velcro or hook/eye. I'd really prefer snaps (quieter, easier to handle with one hand). I might just get a regular unbra for the second bra. They're pretty easy to lift, I'm just concerned about needing a bit of extra support.

I've gone up at least one cup size, but I think it's actually two. My upper ribcage has expanded only slightly, my band size is still comfortable.

But everything I've read says that you need at least one bra that will work somewhat for the first few days and then you must find one that fits decently. Apparently boobs are all crazy and leaky. ;)

I have a shop in Pasadena I go to, and I will probably head there, when I can't breathe. Luckily the ladies have known me for so long, and I am a good customer (cause I cant find my bra's ANYWHERE ELSE!!!) they almost always give me a discount.

They carry my size in stock, and I asked and they carry Maternity and nursing up to a K so I SHOULD be ok. After this I am so getting them cut off. I've heard no underwires for breastfeeding, and all of my current bra's are underwire... so i will need 3-4 more at least.

For some reason Dominic thinks that my cup size wont go up to much. I think he's nuts.

Most larger bras contain latex, which is a problem for me. I just measured, too, and my underbust/overbust difference is 12". That puts me in a j-cup for lined DE bras. I placed an order. I'll let you know how the support goes (lined cotton/lycra blend, racer style). If the support won't work for being out and about, I'll keep it for sleeping in. I hate binding bras and I hate sleeping in them, but I'll need something to hold the leak pads in place. ;)

I had to stop wearing my too-small underwire a few months ago. It was intensely painful deep in my breast . . . ductal pain, seemed like.

There are some nursing underwires and if you're properly fit, you may feel more comfortable in one. The way my boobs are acting, I'm pretty sure they're gonna be offlimits for me.

And we could ask my mom how much her boobs went up with milk, but I don't know if she'd answer on a public post. I'm pretty sure she'd say, "Hell if I know, they don't make bras that big. I was huge. They hurt. Find a good surgeon."

JCP has a bra that goes up to an I cup (http://www4.jcpenney.com/jcp/Products.aspx?DeptID=40379&CatID=3433&CatTyp=FEA&ItemTyp=G&GrpTyp=SIZ&ItemID=0fc71ac&ProdSeq=2&ProdCount=28&Dep=lingerie&RefPage=SearchDepartment&ShowMenu=T&ShopBy=0&SearchString=nursing+bra&S4DeptID=40379&CmCatId=SearchResults|SearchDepartment).

*nods*

I forgot about the sleeping in bra's. Right now it's the first thing that comes off when I get home. But I suppose with breasts that shoot goo, I will need something to contain them.

My mom isnt as busty as I am, she went up to a G while nursing me and then down to a DD after. My doctor made a comment that I *might* be smaller after. Frankly I dont care either way. When we are done I am going to do a cut, reduce, and lift. My shoulders already ache, and I've thrown my back out three times. I'd love to be able to see my toes. And I dont think going *down* do a DD or so is really all that *small*

I'd prefer to nurse for a minimum of one year, preferably 2+. After that, though, these babies are coming off (unless, of course, our house magically sprouts more rooms and boy has a change of heart and wants more urchins).

Anyhow, once the intended purpose is finished, the boobies go AWAY! WOOHOO! I think I'll aim for a full B/small C, especially if my weight stabilizes at the lower end of my curvy scale.

I am aiming for an 18 month nurse :)

We *might* do two, (only if I dont get a girl this time) but since I inherited two others....that's 4.. children. At least hubby has good genes.

I dont think I could do a C. When I spoke to a doctor several years ago, he suggested nothing less than a D simply for frame and the fact that I've carried H breasts since I was 18 or so...not only would I have to get used to it, but my body would have to get used to it as well. That's a LOT of flesh to remove.

Date: 2007-03-14 09:30 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] krasota.livejournal.com
Aye. I'm 5'2" with documented neck/shoulder/back problems and a relatively small frame, despite my curviness. A D would still leave me with significant weight to carry. Plus, if I were to gain weight, they boobs will get bigger, too. The main difference is that they'll also deflate if I lose weight post-surgery, which they do *not* now.

It *is* a lot of tissue to remove, but everyone I know who's had massive amounts removed has not regretted it one bit. The pain, the drains, the recovery, the nerve issues . . . . all worth it.

Don't be afraid to go smaller, because as you said, if you gain any weight at all, your boobs will get bigger too. After doing the yo-yo thing with weight, the boobs will not deflate. I would RUN from any doctor who said go with a "D." Let me guess. . . it was a MALE doctor, right? They are so protective of their little "boobal" preferences.

Love, Mom

I absolutely had to sleep in a bra, because, yeah, they do leak, especially for the first couple of weeks. I also recommend buying a bunch of 'incontinence pads' (they're flat pads, blue, about 2x2') to put under yourself until your milk supply stabilizes -- even with nursing pads, I needed something to keep the bed dry at first.

(Of course, I was making enough milk to feed the Russian army, despite only having one seven-pound child to feed, heh.)

I was a D cup before, went up to an F cup during, and went back down to about a DD/E afterwards (before I gained weight -- I'm back in a DDD/F cup now, grrr!)

Jos, you look lovely, thank you for sharing these pics!! SQUIDLETS!!

I don't think they made bras that big. I had to go to Omar the Tent Maker just to get them covered.

PS: My boobs were beyond huge. I don't think there is a word that describes them adequately. I just know that you were well fed. :-)

So, who do we get to thank for the boob genes? I mean, come on--a J-cup now? That's not even funny. And they're gonna get BIGGER.

I mean, the whole not-gaining-weight-while pregnant bit is kinda cool, but the trade off is buoys for boobs.

Well, you know if boob transplants were to ever get popular, we would be wealthy. :-)

I'm not sure who to blame, but surely there is someone we can think of.
