We've had our G4 iBook for a year. If you'll recall, we had one of the lemony G3 iBooks prior to that. After putting in nigh on half a dozen logic boards (gratis), Apple gave up and gave us a new machine.
Well, last night . . . my beloved piece of plastic and liquid crystals went dark. Tom brought it up once or twice and it went back down. Just down. No noise, just darkness.
Yeah. Logic board. It's off to Apple just as soon as DHL drops off a box and we call them back.
Needless to say, I'll be AFK. I don't much care for boy's workstation set-up. And he's promised me the latest Dan Simmons' novel. I'm not sure what I'll do after I finish that tonight or tomorrow. ;)
I suppose I'll have to survive somehow. Maybe I'll sew a couple maternity skirts. Or clean.
The phone will be the best way of contacting me, though those of you who normally IM the boy have that means of contact, as well. We might let this machine stay up for the phone phobes.

Date: 2007-01-20 03:37 pm (UTC)seems like everyone abandoned ICQ except for and maybe one or two others. Last time i checked Trillian didn't work well with Microsoft Messenger (which I need for work) nor does it work with GoogleChat, which most of the people I talk to moved to. So, to avoid having more than 3 clients open...bye bye ICQ. Sad, really. I was an early adopter of that. I had such a short id number.
