There's a new curry place behind Plan 9, facing the pay lot. They have butter chicken curry, chicken masala, beef, and vegetarian curries. All are gluten-free. The vegetarian dish is the only one containing soy (tofu). Peanut-free, too. Inexpensive. Each dish served with basmati rice or red beans and rice. Cucumber salads available on the side (or with large entrees). We got two smalls and a water for tom. With tax and tip, we spent less than $15.

Did I mention tasty?

Being the flexitarian I am at the moment, I had the chicken. Tom had the beef. It was amazing. The proprietors are very nice and awesome.

Everyone should go and try it out. Very nice people, very good (spicy!) food.

I GOT TO EAT OUT IN MY OWN TOWN!

*happiness*

Aye, Philly's probably the closest for you to find good curry. So, you could have it for lunch, but not for a walk-down-the-street-for-dinner type of deal.

There's a great chaat house over in Cherry Hill. It's attached to a small market, so I can go and grab essentials, then sweettalk the lady behind the counter into revealing which foods are safe for me. (Okay, no sweettalking necessary, but it's good to be polite.)

Thanks to British Imperialism, one can find Indian-inspired food all over, particularly in the Caribbean. That seems to be the direction this place is taking (or perhaps parts of Africa--I didn't ask) . . . they also have cucumber salad and fried plantains.

Ooh, what's it called? I don't think I've seen anything about it in either C-ville or the Hook.

Mmmmm fried plantains....

I need to visit the mexi-van in glen burnie (md) before I move away. It's amazingly good food from a trailer-in-a-random-parking-lot where the local mexican community seems to hang out on weekends. They have yummy plantains and tacos.

This curry sounds good too though.
