had lots of fun in richmond today. [livejournal.com profile] ashbet was putting in an appeareance at the asylum... we chatted while she did hair, boy and i browsed the selections and chatted with the owners... wandered down to another store... it was fun. i bought a nifty purse. tried on several things, which were all too big/too small in all the wrong places. oh for an extra vertebra or two.

we came home on SR 6 (a virginia scenic byway) and discovered that it took no more time than the interstate... well, had we actually known how to get to SR 6 from downtown, the time would've evened out a bit. ;) it was a really nice drive, though, and is one we shall do again.

thought about going out tonight, but realized i've done enough today. mustn't overdo things, as much as i'd like to.

The first thing my sister said to me was "You'd think if I was going to have an extra vertebra, I'd atleast be taller!" She's only 5'3",

The alien thing cracked me up! When I was 10 and she was 9, I told my sister that she was really an alien and we'd sawed off her antennas and dyed her with food colouring so she wouldn't be green. She believed me for, like, a day before asking my mom if it was true. My mom said, "We weren't going to tell you 'til you were older." So it became this huge family joke because she believed the alien story for a long time. I'm saving the aliens have an extra vertebra story until I go home in a couple of weeks so I can see her face!

There was a bunch of weird stuff on the search so I made a LJ entry about them last night. I love Google! And the Internet in general!

your sister and i would probably look very odd next to each other. i'm 5'2". my waist is 36" above the floor. with my short torso and her long, a side-by-side snapshot could be very confusing. ;)

and i'm glad to know i wasn't the only one who grew up in a family where the parents corroborated one's stories. ;)
