Apr. 25th, 2002 10:10 pmboy called my surgeon's office today. he ended up talking to someone from the surgical team. she suggested i add another half-dilaudid (total 6mg) to my dose (every four hours)... and asked if i could safely add another naproxen. well, i can (that would be 1500mg) do that short term. that's what my prescription calls for, in fact, from my previous surgery. of course, there's a reason i have nearly 50 naproxen left--that high of a daily dose leaves me horribly nauseous and completely obliterates my appetite. she told boy that i probably shouldn't do that, after all.
i hope she's right. she told him it was probably something musculoskeletal. that probably translates to "bruised/strained muscle or broken rib" or something similar... as long as i'm not coughing up blood, showing visible bruising, or gasping for breathe, they're not worried, though.
so i guess i shouldn't be, either.
ah, well. the extra dilaudid helps a little. i can breathe a little more deeply and cough a little more deeply. that's good.
