Huge fibro flare. Possible CFIDS crash. This was anticipated and planned for. The severe need for caffeine was not. I ate a few chocolate covered espresso beans. I will attempt to make espresso later.

Once more, Fantômas is cooler than you.

I'm sorry. Take good care of yourself and REST as much as you can. (((hugs)))

Oh, the forced rest period is well underway. I wasn't going to miss boy's show Saturday night nor Fantômas last night. I knew what I was in for. ;)

And now I rest. Feeling like crap isn't fun, but it's a blessing for our budget. I'd be out spending money on garden stuff if I weren't on couch arrest.

Yup, rest up. I am in the midst of my "feminine time" in which all my symptoms increase ten fold. I am also keeping to the couch though I can move about the house to try to do something productive like put a light load of clothes in the wash. That's my max effort limit.

I was trying to figure out how a crash in your ColdFusion Identifier (also CFID) could possibly effect how you're feeling...then realized that I spend far too much time in front of a computer and need to get out more.

Why yes, I have ColdFusion Identifier Syndrome. *grin*

Yes, you should get out more. Since you don't, I'll be forced to eat this reallyreallyreally good chocolate on your behalf.

glad you had a fun weekend. sometimes it's definitely worth planning for and then dealing with the crash/flare that goes with something fun. now if i had gotten broken ice skating or falling off a horse i could deal with. tripping over a rock and tearing a ligament and messing up my wrist. not my idea of worth it. sorry to whine in your post. please pass this really really really good chocolate that you are talking about. with my period rapidly (as in where the heck is it) approaching i need all the really really really good chocolate i can get. the squeaky berner (don't know what they did to make him squeak [i hope it isn't pain] but he sounds like unoiled gears or a smoke detector with failing batteries) sends snuggles. he says at least we're laid up together so we get lots of cuddle time. he's very very sweet.

give the gigantic berner of doom a hug for me. i hope you heal soon--ligaments and wrists are not good things to rip up.

mmmmmmmmmm chocolate.

i will hug the berner. technically at 75 pounds he's a rather small berner of doom. but that's still a decent sized dog. (unless you were thinking he was going to be 100+ pounds like we were) his tail is going round and round with happiness from your hug. he so loves to be loved.

my knee mri was today we'll see what else we learn from that. it certainly seems as though i'll be hanging around waiting to heal forever. i was sort of hoping to be starting to feel better (at least a little) by now. if anything the knee is worse. i guess i'll be hanging around online for the forseeable future. i'm thankful for my laptop.

hope your mandatory rest period ends quickly. i ordered a meyers lemon for outdoor/indoors in a container. i'm guessing i'm not putting in a garden this year. we'll get a some stuff in containers hopefully.

It sounded like you were having a busy weekend, but you know your body best, and sometimes you just have to do it! I would send some of our chocolate-covered espresso beans (they're from TJs), but I don't think they'd get there in time. So I'm sending virtual [livejournal.com profile] krasota-safe caffeine delivery-mechanism of your choice :-)

Your espresso beans should stay safe at home with you. Mine are kosher-for-Passover and absolutely soy-free. Thanks for the caffeinated vibes, however, I sorely needed them.

I now have a can of coke, courtesy of my darling boy. mmmm, soda. I can feel my tooth enamel eroding.

Aye. I ate something I reacted to yesterday morning and am now covered in eczema, blistery rash, and the remnants of hives. Blargh.

I hope your skin soothes itself soon. Maybe less stress would help?

Date: 2005-04-11 10:59 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] datagoddess.livejournal.com
Ah, I was wondering if those would be soy-free, but my ass is firmly attached to the couch at the moment, so I didn't look. Of course, I would check if I was to actually offer them to you. Let's not make you worse off than you are!

Mmmmmm, Coke. Sugary-caffeine goodness!

I now have a can of coke

In an effort to eliminate aspartame once and for all, a couple of weeks ago I switched off Diet Coke and back to Coke, for the first time in probably 20 years. Back then, I used to drink Coke in cans. Since I was still working at the call center, I was taking the 24 oz. plastic bottles. I noticed that the bottled Coke did taste much sweeter than Diet, and I'm sure a lot of it was just how used to Diet Coke I'd become. However, something just seemed like it wasn't as I remembered it. And then I remembered our good friend Ethylenediaminetetra-acetic acid, or EDTA: the stuff they put in canned Coke to keep it from eating the can. I think EDTA buffers the sweetness a bit.

In any case, I discovered (finally) Meijer is carrying Pepsi edge in cans - 1/2 Splenda and 1/2 sugar. Much better. :-)

From: [identity profile] krasota.livejournal.com
There is no EDTA in my can of Coca-Cola Classic. This is a good thing--EDTA and my immune system do not play nicely. I don't like coke in plastic. It doesn't taste good. I prefer aluminum with my soda. Glass is best and a fountain soda is acceptable, but good versions of either are scarce.

Kosher for Passover Coke is made with cane or beet sugar, not HFCS. Coke tastes so sweet to you because HFCS is THE DEVIL. Mmmmm, overly sweetened devil drink. I'm told that there's a synagogue in Indianapolis somewhere--maybe you could call the community center associated with it and ask if there are any stores in town stocking it. It's sold in 2L bottles and rather tasty.

Diet Rite uses Splenda.

I usually drink water, but sometimes I want soda. Water's much better for me, anyhow.

There's a special code identifying Kosher-for-Passover Coke on the bottle caps, but I can't remember what it is. Mexican Coke is also made with sugar.

Oh, that's right! I think that was a change made for Classic after the whole "New Coke" debacle.

I like the Diet Rite Toni drinks, but I still need something caffeinated in the morning, and I can't stand coffee and am not big on too many teas. That's where (when, and only when, actually) Pepsi Edge comes in. If Diet Rite made a caffeinated cola I'd be set.

I have a friend who knows folks at the Jewish Community Center. There was also an article in The Star recently about all the ethnic markets popping up around Indy. I'll have to check on Kosher Coke, thanks!

Diet Rite doesn't have caffeine. We haven't been able to find a caffeinated soda with Splenda yet.

There's a big synagogue over on the northwest side, north of the Art Museum, I think. I bet there's a grocery store or two over on that side of town that carry it.

It's just the hechscher--hebrew writing that signifies something to folks who can read it. It also has a U(P) and OU (Orthodox Union, the certifying agency used). The cap is yellow. I look for the yellow cap and the Hebrew script.

The ingredients label generally reads "hfcs and/or sucrose". They use the same labels for Kosher for Passover and regular coke, just the caps are different.

I dilute it in so much cream and hazelnut syrup that the flavor is inconsequential. Maybe an enema would work . . .
