meet suzy.

she was a bitch to assemble (hard to hold long, fumbly steel bits together tightly while maintaining a vise grip on hex screw and hex nut with socket wrench/wrench/monkey wrench)...

but she mows quite nicely.

now that i've mowed an acre, i've got a horrid headache, am not quite sure HOW i did that much, and am feeling the burning tingliness that signals impending blisterdom.

ramps/allium... very difficult to shred/mow down. must attack with speed, from varying angles...

clover, false wild nettle, oxalis... lots of fun to lop off cluster tops. OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!

violets, dandelions, cedar striplings, miscellaneous hardy little bits... very diligent survivors. they lay low and are strong, so they survive.

mints: pennyroyal, catnip, spearmint... smell quite nice when tromped upon.

Dammit, love! I have a "Suzy" sitting unused in my garage that I would have just sent with your parents had I known you were needing one.

One time I mowed about 3 acres of knee-high tansy. Wasn't the smartest thing I ever did, but it's kind of fun to admit in hindsight.
