the doc did an ekg, something was abnormal, so she sent me on over to the cardiology unit... (btw, the doctor expressed frustration with the desk staff. she, too, is just an employee and can't control what they do or don't do.)

after listening to me and gooeying me up for an echocardiogram, she and the techs made the diagnosis...

pericarditis. likely to be post-viral.

and she gave me an appointment for thursday for another echo... if the fluid hasn't gone down. ew... not gonna think about that right now. i'll just be good, drink lots of fluids, and take my meds.

my doctor gave me a prescription for a hella lotta darvocet. i assured her i would NOT abuse this prescription and only take the stuff when i cannot otherwise breathe/sleep/swallow. she was satisfied.

oh. and i have to get the cyst in my lungs checked out. it's about 4cm x 6cm. tiny, but not when it's on a bronchial tube and adjacent to one's esophagous. or something. she was talking quickly (wanted to get me over to the cardiologist) and i was kind of woozy. she'll call boy tomorrow after she talks to the radiologist and before she gets on the plane for her conference.

see? my doctor rocks. she does care. i just have to deal with her asinine support staff.

i forgot to show her my new nipple-mole, but i really think it's just a blood blister. and i forgot to ask for valtrex, but... i really don't want to add any extraneous meds to my mix while i'm dealing with freakin' fluid around my heart.

Lots and lots and lots and lots of rest.
At least you know, now, what you're dealing with.
Did I mention lots and lots of rest?
Yes, your doctor rocks. I'm glad she gave you the darvocet.

((hugs)) and heal!!

*brings you the laptop, some soup, and proper medication*

Thank GOODNESS the doctors finally figured out what the problem is . . . *shudder*

(((big hugs)))

I can't come over, because Kira's home sick and I'm getting ominous tummy-rumblings (and I'm SO EXCITED about all this happening in the midst of my job interviews, to boot), and I don't want to expose you to anything new . . . but feel better, sugar!!

*crossing my fingers in hopes that the meds take effect soon*
