J.M. Coetzee won the Nobel Prize for Literature this year. I think that's wonderful, but I can't remember why.

This is one of the more disheartening aspects of fibro and cfids. I know I wrote a paper on a novel of Coetzee's. I know the novel struck a chord within me. I know I enjoyed the paper because it was difficult to write. I cannot find the novel (the Coetzee novel on our shelf is "Foe", which I'm reasonably certain I didn't read for class) on our bookshelf, which means it's likely packed in a box in Indiana. I remember the themes in the novel, but not the plot, nor the characters or location. My memory is like a sieve. The emotional is intact, but the concrete has slipped away.

I think that after I read Perdido Street Station, I'm going to read "Foe". I don't remember having read it, but that's entirely possible.
