[livejournal.com profile] explodingcat did not sleep well last night (in fact, he slept so poorly he actually got up to do dishes in the middles of the night). he's kind of out of it today, which is sad. we went to the farmer's market, though. the folks at Double H asked us computer questions, then gave us boy's sausage for free. we exchanged contact info. they're either having battery or motherboard problems (probably all of the above--the tower and most everything in it is 9 years old, the hard drive is two years old, the monitor is new). I gave them some suggestions of things to try before giving up on it. They're always very nice folks--we always try to buy something from them.

We walked over to the vegetarian festival and picked up a few things--[livejournal.com profile] xiane, I got a free copy of Vegetarian Times for you. Boy had a burrito (chicken pesto) at Baja whatever. The proprietor wasn't interested in reading the label on the oil (It's vegetable oil, not soy oil.), so I didn't eat there.

We wandered around the DT Mall for a bit--KMH Hightower is going out of business, or has already. I got to adore two toy toy toy (teacup) poodles. They were so tiny and cute. I petted a beagle at the Veg Festival (it's also an animal rescue spot)... broke out in hives on that arm, so I'm wondering if they rolled the dog in tofu.

Boy's resting now and listening to the new A Perfect Circle album he bought yesterday (he had a coupon for winning a stumper on WNRN). He also bought the Dr. No soundtrack, so now we can pretend we live in a banana republic and listen to calypso music all day long.

I gave him his present (other than neubauten.com, which he knew about). He's very happy because the present is quite useful--a 24" black and blue Wilson duffle. He's been using an old semi-disposable tote bag from the Virginia Wine Festival. It's a cellulose fiber bag which isn't meant for regular use, really. Now he can actually fit everything he needs into his bag. I'm not normally one for useful gifts--I like to buy whimsical things, but he's quite practical.

He's so tired that we won't be going to the Dawning tonight. :( He'd really like to see Synthetic Division one of these days, but hasn't managed to yet. We'll take it easy and rest.

I'd planned to go to the vegetarian festival today, but I did *drum roll* yardwork. The place only looks neglected now, instead of like the Spooky House On The Hill Where The Widder Anderson With All Those Cats Lives. Oh, wait...

Is your boy coming to dinner tomorrow? And please wish him a happy birthday for me.

The beagle might have recently been treated with something like Advantage or Frontline. They're not soyish, but they're certainly chemically.

Firstly, there's a vegetarian festival!?! So cool!

Secondly, I'm not entirely certain your boy exists. I have yet to see proof of said boy. But, if he *does* exist, I hope he feels better. And I hope to see both of you next Dawning? (My bday! I want you there!)

I don't make any promises about attendance--I can be perfectly fine at 3pm and crash into a pathetic puddle at 4 or 8 or 9 or 10.

We will *try* to be there. We certainly always plan on it, but we don't always make it. Boy is prone to blood sugar and energy issues, so he sometimes chooses to stay home and go to bed at a reasonable hour.

He said he's seen you. ;) Now, you were certainly distracted, but hey... who's complaining?

No, I don't expect promises, not at all. (My mum has fibro-- I do understand as far as anyone who *doesn't* have fibro can.)

And as to the other-- yeah... I won't complain at all about certain distractions, nosirree. Hee.

I just read your previous entry, too. ::squishy non-hurty hugses::

*cries* I wondered if KMH was going out of business. I need to stop by there Monday and get thingies, if they're still there... poop. Where am I to get my velvet maryjanes?
