the blouse will be ready at 4. at that point, i can make sure it's still safe to wear. it should still fit--it's a lane bryant 14/16 and was always quite roomy on me. then i just need to decide which skirt will work.

i'm still working on the dress, but without the stress of "it must be done by saturday", it's not so overwhelming. i spent plenty of money on the fabric, though, so i'm going to finish it. if i just bundle it up *now*, i'll never get it done. so i'm continuing.

i need to shower and then go to Michael's. Would anyone like to join me? Um... for Michaels, that is... I'll shower on my own today. ;)

Michael's is evil, they have no wire (save stupid floral wire which I don't use). How can a so-called craft store not have wire? It's not like I want stainless steel from them. I do want it, but I know better than to try to find it at shoddy shite stores. I have found I need to go to hobby stores to find the metal dowels I use for chainmail, same gripe about 'craft' stores. Does no one do anything with metal crafts anymore? Thank my deities for the 'Net, where I can order wire from Rio Grander at 1 am not wearing pants.

i bought 32g craft wire there tonight. they also have several other gauges, but all bead wire. i take it you don't want bead wire? they only had 2.5" barrette clips, though. grrrrrr....

gah! 32 gauge wire is too small for the maille. Most bead wire is way too small to use for my maille. Smallest I use, and I have yet to attach clasps to it, is 24 gauge, wound around a length of 16 gauge wire (forget the diameter of the 16g, too lazy to look it up). But, the 24 gauge is small enough. I call it proof of my insanity. It would make some nice sterling silver stuff, though I doubt anyone would pay for the labour. I primarily use 22 gauge for jewelry now, what I covet is Darice's black steel in 22 and 19 gauges. I bought out the rest of the Joann's stock near me. I need more of the 19 gauge for the new project I'm doing... tight steel maille collar. Should be neat if I can figure out how to put a clasp or closure on it. The wire itself is black in the package but tends to shed most of the black coating when wound. Which means your hands get nasty black like you've been handling coal. But, it self=polishes to a neat black pearlescent sheen that is neat looking.

What size of barrette clips are you needing? Not that I know much about barrette clips, but am always willing to learn.
