Today, I downloaded installed the 9.1, 9.2.1, and 9.2.2 updates for OS9.

I need to re-install Photoshop. I thought we had the CDs, but apparently not. Damn. I can just transfer it from boy's machine, so it's not totally lost.

boy moved his work computer into the dining room today. we decided to try blocking off his former office (sunroom) for a month to see if that brings our electric bill down.

it was twice as high this last month ($200!!), which is not a good thing. we can cover it without too much of a problem, thanks to his office deciding to reimburse him for an anti-glare screen he bought for his work monitor.

since he needs to work and his computer has to be in a cooler space, we chose the dining room. it will get a lot less light, which worries me, but he *likes* the dining room because it's the cleanest room in the house. there were some nails already in the wall in the corner we chose, so i moved some small pictures in there for him. he moved all the garage sale stuff on the sunporch, so the dining room looks great now.

I need to find my shoes and my sunglasses.

I forgot to call my doctor today. Actually, the first time I tried the office was closed for lunch. the second time, the line was busy. i forgot to try again. my fingers are angry with me, though not as badly as yesterday, since they'd had no sun today. i have to go out soon, though, andd the sun might come out.

I've started taking acetyl l-carnitine for brainfog and energy problems with cfids and fibro. i usually don't do this stuff without doctor supervision, but i don't have a doctor treating me for cfids and fibro right now and i'm not ready to face another pain clinic. so i'm going my own route, which is what folks with cfids and fibro usually end up doing, anyhow. when we can afford it, i'll try NADH, too.

Occasionally when I use the deo stone, it doesn't work. This happens when I'm on my period or flaring badly. i don't know why. Today is one of those days. Earlier this year, I bought some almay frag-free antiperspirant, to use when I'm wearing things that can't get sweat-stained or when I need to leave the house and not stink. I've bought it in the past without problems. This bottle seems to reek of perfumey sweetness, though I've attributed that to the glycerin in it. Today, it gave me a migraine, nausea, PN pain, and throat tightness. I had to take another shower, toss the dress I was wearing in the wash, and wait for the headache to subside. it's not completely gone yet. I asked boy to throw the almay away. i don't know why this particular bottle stinks... there is *no* possible masking fragrance ingredient listed and it's labeled fragrance-free. really annoying. maybe i should fish it out of the trash and call the company about it.

i'm going to update soon about the weekend. right now, i want apples, though, so i need to go to the store with boy. i hope he drives, since i'm all in pieces.

I would be suspicious that you got a mis-labelled batch of deodorant. If I were you, I would fish it out of the trash and call the company. At the very least, they might send you an unscented replacement for free (or, perhaps, a check or a coupon).

Go to prohealth.com for the NaDH when you can afford. It has the lowest price and if you sign up for their direct-shipment club it's even cheaper. The backordered IBS relief pills I got yesterday were at a 40% discount from their normal price because I signed up for that.

PS - What are the dates of your Indiana trip? Will and I are trying to make some tentative plans.

*rummages for invoice* Oops. It's ProHealthNetwork.com.

*looks at calendar* Ok, that'd be leaving VA on Aug 7 and going back on the 10th or 11th. Obviously I'd prefer the later date so I have more time to maim spend with Will. He wants to go see The Damned in Chicago on the 9th, but if you guys are going to be here for so short a time I don't know if I want to trek up to Chicago, too. Hmm. We'll see if I can convince him there really are things to do in Indiana.

Oh, and if it turns out that for some reason Will can't make it, I fully expect you to bring me another spikey-haired slaveboi ;)

hrm, the nadh there is a dollar more expensive than the same amount at whole foods. the member price is a couple dollars cheaper, but i assume there are shipping charges, which would negate the savings.

furthermore, it's a different brand than the one sold at WF. The one at WF is listed as being soy-free, while this one is not.

this is one reason i avoid taking supps these days--they're expensive and half the time i react to fillers.

as for indiana, the date we return depends entirely on boy's vacation time. i don't know what he has left. he should email me about coming with us, too. he'll need to be here no later than 10am that thursday, so he might want to stay the night.

by the way, the last time i saw him, he still had red marks. what did you DO to him?

Ah. I haven't been able to find NaDH locally, nor Thermotabs (at least not easily). Haven't seen gluathione either, so I'll have to add that too my next order. Good Earth in BR might have some of them, but they'd be more epxensive. I'm also ordering enough NaDH for my mom, since she has fibro too, so ordering all that together through their discount club more than makes up for shipping.

Supplements are way expensive, but I'm hoping that they'll make a difference for me eventually. I try to stock up when they're 2-for-1. I recently found out Nature Made products has a rewards program. I put in codes for half of what I have here and I've already earned one $7 coupon and have almost enough points for another.

by the way, the last time i saw him, he still had red marks. what did you DO to him?

Nothing he didn't ask me to do. For the most part. I threatened to get acrylic nails before his visit, but he said he'd run away because he'd die if that happened.

Hey J... The other day I saw a roll-on version of the crystal stone deoderant. I think it was at WickedWalmart. It was liquid...I don't know how this might be better when the stone itself fails, but it might.

i've had a lot of trouble with things that are labeled "fragrance-free" actually having what my allergies interpret as a fragrance. if it was a brand that you'd used successfully before, then i don't know what the deal was, but i always sniff stuff no matter how fragrance-free it claims to be. the worst is when something that works for me gets a formula change and stops being something i can use. grrrrr.

i lost the thread of the conversation up there--is there some chance that you'll be in chicago, or just indiana? if chicago, please let me know!!!

i do sniff tests, too, but most drugstores and other stores that sell these things are overwhelmingly scented themselves, so my nose gives out.

i'll be in east central indiana most of the time (near new castle and muncie), with a brief sojourn to north central (goshen, elkhart, lagrange). I won't be over by Chicago, though. It's a fairly long drive from my parents' home in Henry County.

yeah, i know the feeling. i try sniffing my hand (to clear my nose) and then the product, for as long as i can, but eventually that doesn't work anymore either.

so near and yet so far! i'll be driving right by there the weekend afterwards--but i'll be on my way to cleveland.
