crap. i boiled/soaked/rinsed my beans last night (small white beans)... then piled them in the crockpot with some other ingredients around midnight. i wasn't thinking, though, and tossed tomatoes in, forgetting that acidic food goes in *last*... the beans are STILL tough. did i ruin them? are they going to soften?

time to unplug the laptop (thunder), put on pants, and find a screen repair shop.
