My in-laws gave us a kitchen-aid standing mixer (in black) for yaksmas. I've been remiss and haven't actually USED it yet. My MiL sent me a citrus juicer attachment, too.

Well, today I used it. I made lemonade with the lemons I bought at the Teeter last week (on sale). I just served boy a glass of iced lemonade, complete with sliced strawberries.

I think he loves me.

oooh *envy*. I want one of those Kitchenaid mixer type things. :) I've only ever owned a handheld (and I don't even have those, at the moment).. I'll be saving for one, to buy later on this year. :)

My mother bought me a juicer for my birthday this year. I'm embarassed to say I had trouble stopping laughing over the gift. Out of a list of "gifts I could never imagine asking for, much less using" it had to rank pretty high up there.

I've used it a couple times since then, and it does make a fun toy, and if I kept more juicable things around the house I bet it'd get a lot more use, but as is, I think it's going to be one of those things that stays on the top shelf... except when my mother comes over.

I have a kitchenaid mixer. Mine is black too. :)
I love it, and don't use it nearly as often as I should...it's been ages. I need to get the citrus attachment--I killed a food processor doing that once.
I need to clean a space on my counter off and haul the ol' mixer out from its hidey spot in the cabinet.

And I would love you too, for a glass of fresh lemonade with strawberries. I am a lemonade fiend.
*hug*

You have a black Kitchen-aid?! Oh! Oh! *envy*

That's one of the things I'll probably ask for when I'm old and moldy and married, as well. Although my mother would probably just tell me to come over and use her old, white one... or give me that one... *pouts*

See, I grew up in a home d'gadgets. Chris actually had to teach me how to whip cream by hand the other day; we'd always just used the kitchen-aid.

Oddly enough, I've always made lemonade by hand.
Well, or thrown it into the Vita-mix.

Vita-mix:blender as kitchen-aid:handblender.

I'M GONNA COME OVER AND MESS UP YOUR KITCHEN!

Oooh, I love my Kitchen-Aid -- we got it from my mom as a wedding gift. It's great for those dense cookie recipes where the batter is like mixing concrete -- plows right through it.

Of course, then there are times during which I think, "You know, 200 odd dollars is a lot to pay for some little kitcheny thing. How often do I cook, really? The crock-pot is the only thing I use often... and the ricemaker, and my Hello Kitty toaster oven.... do I need more items for food preparation? I could buy CLOTHES!" And then the two sides of my head get into a battle. The clothes one usually wins, because the Laura-Ingalls-Wilder-bread-baking side of my brain is very weak, and easily beaten.

Cory just bought us a shiny purple George Foreman grill thingie, with his Sears discount for like $10. We'll see how that pans out... oooh! Can I grill you some wheatmeats? Or grilled cheese on bread! WHEE.... la la la, coooking... with Jos....

That's what family is for. My grandma gave me her KitchenAid mixer when she moved into a retirement home. (Sadly, not black. But free! And very heavy.) I stole my mom's bread machine last week since she never uses it. Next will be the air popcorn popper as she never uses that, either, and I find microwave popcorn unsatisfying.
