Opera seems to be handling Cyrillic just fine.
As a test, I shall share the song boy wrote and frequently sings. Since he doesn't know Russian, it doesn't make much sense. Well, it makes sense in that he's silly.

Do Cyrillic fonts normally display with your browser? If not, I'm not worried. If so, I'll worry a little, though this works perfectly fine on my machine in Opera, as do other Russian sites.

I dunno. If I can't read a website, I usually stay away. :)
Here's an idea, give me the url of a website to visit and I'll grab the window as an image, and send you a small sample as a gif. That way you can see exactly how it looks on my browser.

it's a mix of english and russian.
i finally just went and reinstalled all my cyrillic fonts, along with installing some newer apple cyrillic support (cRussify)... it works in IE now. we'll have to see if Word still works, too. it didn't earlier.

I was really curious as to what it said, so I made my boy come in here to translate. He said that it didn't make much sense. ;) I said that that was why I wanted to know what it said. He understood some of it and read that off for me. Then, I realized that there was something way too funny about having someone who speaks broken Russian partially translating nonsensical Russian for me. ;P
Speaking of which, he had a couple of classes in Russian at the Academy (which is how he got his basic Russian skills). Is that where you learned Russian? I brought that up, so he's wondering if you might have had the same teacher (in different years, though).

Also, here's the "verdict." I have tried viewing this entry in both Explorer 5.1 and Netscape 7.0, in both OS X and OS 9. In both browsers, it worked fine in OS X; in both browsers, I just got a string of ?s in OS 9.
