I forgot to mention one frightening aspect of the horrible night o'rash and fever--hearing problems. I got that icky tunnel-hearing problem, where everything sounds far away and hollow. I get that from time to time, anyhow, along with ringing in my ears. It's something that's vaguely annoying, but when combined with everything else--it was really upsetting at the time.

My skin still feels vaguely sunburned, even in areas where I wasn't scratching. The rash seems to be mostly gone, except for a couple blisters that got scratched open. Random patches of skin are also still hot to touch. My head, though... I have a head cold. So my ears are stuffy (I HATE THAT), my sinuses are constantly draining, and I'm coughing. My back is aching. As is common with TMD sufferers, my jaw gets tight when I'm under stress, so I'm eating naproxen in an effort to stave off a migraine. It's working thus far. Muscle relaxants would work better, but at least I'm keeping the inflammation at bay.

I so rarely get sick with something. I'll call my doctor tomorrow to make sure there's not something horrible going around. Otherwise, I'm guessing it's a virus and I'll just keep treating it as I am--lots of rest, fake jello, and tons of warm liquids. I have an appetite, except for when I'm particularly snotty, so that's okay.

not that i know of. they definitely didn't send me home with any. and i can't remember what went in the IV because i was generally in too much pain, thanks to preoccupied nurses and a pain pump that was prone to running empty.

dammit, i need YOU on my nursing staff the next time i'm in the hospital. you'll keep me flying high just so you can tell all the relatives stories of me streaking down the hall in ICU. ;)

*evil grin*

You know, I'd love to come visit you next time your sweet ass ends up in zee hospital.
It was kind of amusing (although just as much annoying) to deal with the little priss ass nurses...I had dyed black hair, facial piercings (jewlery was IN when I visited ma), a black skull backpack purse, wearing all black, visible tattoo, astonishingly pale skin, bright red lipstick. I also had the ammunition of knowing how to "talk the talk" (well DUH I *AM* a RN), which I think drove them batty. Heh. Mom had some real dickheaded crotch rabbits for nurses. One in particular who would look all shocked if I requested/suggested anything...then go on to do EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE (grrr).

Now, with MORE facial piercings, and long black & green dreads, I would really make the nurses poop themselves a right fine brick!!
