Mar. 8th, 2003 12:17 amOoof. Busy day. Pay day often is.
Went to town, along with my big bin o'fabric doom, several boxes of books, and the box of wrapping paper/ribbons. Then we met
xiane at B&N, where I picked up a cookbook (grilling) and boy grabbed a qi gong book. I ransacked the googley eyes at Michael's and picked up some stamps and fabric paint for our togas. We also got two garden arches (on sale! cheap! perfect for morning glories!).
We grabbed boy some food at Arby's and went on to Joanne's, where Chris and I ravaged the muslin. We now have far too many yards of unbleached fabric. She bought some black fabric for her chitan. It shall be very scary and fun. We hit Whole Foods for quick sushi, but the seed packs seduced us. I now have lots of seeds.
We dropped her off and met up with
red_frog... walked downtown, hit some galleries, ran into another of her friends, and all went out for tapas at Bashir's. Bashir's restaurant is awesome and the food is great. I always enjoy going. Walked back to her house, where we parted ways.
Boy and I went to the empire of doom (walmart) to buy a rug... they're getting rid of the rug module. The rug we wanted was nowhere to be found. *sigh* Guess this means we'll have to drive up to Ikea or something. I need an inexpensive large area rug for the dining room, so the wood doesn't suffer too much wear.
I picked up some peat disc trays, tissues, and two sets of negrita tulips, so not all was lost.
I need to see if there's some way to get insurance to cover my orthotics that I was supposed to get last year. The nerve pain in my feet is resurging. I can't avoid it. It's worse when I walk, but it's there no matter WHAT. I'm guessing that the orthotics will only be covered if I go through the diagosis process again. That's stupid, since that means insurance has to cover x-rays and an appointment with an orthopoedic surgeon who specializes in foot disorders (it's a bone structure anomaly causing the problems that result in nerve pain, which is why the orthotics *should* be covered), in addition to the prescribed orthotics. I still have the prescription form for them, but they were prescribed before I was on this policy.
Anyhow, the walking and shopping we did wore me out, but it was all fun and quite enjoyable. The sky is very pretty tonight. And tomorrow is supposed to be warm. yay!
