Still sick.
Jun. 14th, 2009 12:27 pmRonan woke Tom up at 6:30am, all bright-eyed and bushy tailed and insistent on carrying on a detailed conversation. I slept. So they got up and when I stumbled out four hours later, Ronan was still pretty happy. Tom said kiddo was still a bit feverish this morning, so he was medicated, but happy.
Me? I'm less feverish, somewhat less achy, but the cough and congestion continue and I'm sucking on drops for the sore throat. And I'm short of breath and quite tired, so I'm just taking it very, very easy.
Ronan's currently napping in my lap.
There's a weird 3-day virus going around. The docs are just saying, "oh, it's that three day fever thing" instead of swabbing for flu. This is probably a flu, albeit a mild one. It feels somewhat milder than the flus I had in 2004, the ones that left me utterly miserable (got tamiflu for the second strain, that helped) and really, really sick (should have gone to the ER with the first bout).
I'm actually kind of hoping that it's H1N1, as I'd rather have it in spring and possibly attain immunity. There have been confirmed cases in town and this town is like an little toxic ball pit when it comes to interpersonal relationships and so on. Ronan and I cannot take flu shots.
Oh, well. If I'm still sick tomorrow, I'll call my doc and ask if he needs to see me. I expect the answer will be no, unless I'm definitely coughing crap up from my lungs.
