So, let's see.

Tomorrow is election day. Charlottesville will once again stand out as a little beacon of blue in an swath of red. I'm fairly pessimistic about the results. I think a lot of folks will vote yes for question 1 out of fear and ignorance, not learning from Ohio's mistakes.

Speaking of Charlottesville, I'd like to remind folks about one of the neater bulletin boards we have: Hooville.net. There's a music scene forum, as well as a friendly administrator who is happy to create group topics for specific organizations. I think something like this is a bit more centralized and accessible than yahoo!groups or myspace (ie, folks aren't liable to get spam or suffer nasty browser crashes while viewing). Maybe it would be a good venue for announcements? It's something that folks who are at the library or downtown can easily pull up without logging in.

We had a picnic yesterday up in the mountains. Attending were myself, [livejournal.com profile] explodingcat, [livejournal.com profile] nannar, [livejournal.com profile] jericho_the_dog, [livejournal.com profile] sajego, [livejournal.com profile] nothingoth, and [livejournal.com profile] aleiphein.

It was good to finally meet [livejournal.com profile] sajego. She even went off into the woods with boy and Chad and returned unscathed! Meat on a stick was cooked, peeps were flambéd, and the poodle was cossetted.
