The replacement arrived today, hot off the truck/plane/boat from China, via Anchorage and Indianapolis.
I tore myself away from importing tons of photos and mail (and deleting/sorting two weeks' worth of mail) long enough to give the dog a bath. He's resting on the couch, attempting to lick off the clean smell.
I really need to go out and buy vinegar, tp, and paper towels, but I don't want to leave the house. We turned the heat up so the dog wouldn't catch a chill (he's sopping wet) and it's all cozy in here. It's a gorgeously gray and rainy day outside, the kind I like to watch from the window while curled up with a cuppa tea.
We'll be driving up to NJ Wednesday, driving home next Monday. My MiL requested
jericho_the_dog's presence. Stacey crossed the Rainbow Bridge recently, so MiL is feeling a bit lonely and needs a critter to hug. It will be nice to see them. It's even nicer that gas prices dropped again. We paid $2.03/gallon last week.
I won't be on much for another week or two. Tom needs to import and update all of our budget stuff and he's got homework to do, too. His parents have a dialup connection, but it's compuserve and hopelessly slow, even on the Mac. If we pay for a month/day of T-mobile hotspottedness, I might take advantage and update from a Starbucks. There will still be loads of super allergenic fel d1 protein sticking about the house, so I'll need to escape frequently.
My hair is looking dull to my eyes. I should order some henna. I won't be able to attend to it until next month, but at least I'll feel better about it. I wish there were some way to *not* dye the white hairs that are popping up.
