NOAA's report on Katrina, with some pictures of Plaquemines Parish. You can use GoogleMaps or TerraServer to look at aerial photos of Boothville, LA. Then compare those to what you see in the pictures. There were a lot of homes and camps through there. Lots of folks living in that area make their living from fishing. I'm sure most of them lost their homes, camps, and boats.

Also, NOAA notes that their local climate reporting station is unavailable. It's interesting how this might potentially affect various efforts--from maritime to land.
