Mar. 9th, 2004 11:51 amOkay. So I don't have Nickolodeon, MTV, VH1, MTV2, Comedy Central, OR the NYC CBS affiliate.
I understand Echostar and Viacom are having negotiation disputes. I understand that my non-broadcast line-up can change at anytime. HOWEVER, I specifically PAY for the CBS affiliate since there are no local channels I can actually tune in to. I pay for Fox, UPN, ABC, and CBS. I don't actually watch CBS, but I do pay for it. There's a "press for info" box on my digital menu. It suggests we call Viacom to complain.
No. I'm going to call Echostar. This is all a dispute over Echostar not wanting to carry an extra Viacom channel. Yes, it's a dirty negotiation dispute on both sides, but you know what? I WANT NickToons, which is what I've read is the channel in dispute. Get rid of SITV, PAX, or one of the damn ESPN channels that is always off the air ANYHOW. Get rid of a home shopping network or three... I know that people my age WILL watch NickTOONS and we're a decent advertising target.
Do *not* get rid of the one channel I watch at 11pm four nights a week. Do not get rid of the other channels I turn on daily for background noise. And, for heaven's sake, don't get rid of a channel I pay EXTRA to receive.
If the local cable company carried WorldLinkTV, I'd switch *right now*.
