mornings were not meant to exist.

especially early mornings.

especially mornings in which i discover i have no cream or half/half to put in my coffee.

i should go find my contacts. it's so damn muggy, my glasses are sliding off my face.
CDs we're selling )

one guy wanted to buy the garfield comic collection for two bucks (plus the other three kids books). i have the books marked down to .20, which is less than i'd get at a used bookstore... altogether, they'd be 5.20 (for garfield, +.60 for the other three), plus there are two larger books (how to draw and another comic book) for 50 cents each, though i'd let them go for a little less. i'm sorry, two bucks for all of them is *too* good of a deal. he wanted them for a grown daughter... had he wanted them for a little kid, i might have considered 3.50 or four, but he thought that was too much.

people who show up at 6:30 for a sale that starts at 7 should be shot at dawn, especially since dawn is earlier this time of year.
i've got two sets of tab curtains. they're cotton, a hefty medium (for cotton, not denim, though)... one set of green, one of blue. the blue ones need re-hemming (nervous habit...), but are otherwise perfect. they're about five feet long, would cover a standard sash window. i had them in the house out in the country. they've been washed. If you just want them to screen out sunlight, you could split them up and do one per window, but I don't recommend it.

does anyone local want me to hold on to them? i know a number of my friends are moving soon and y'all might be in need of curtains. then again, these might not be sufficiently heavy for goth bedrooms.

and i'm willing to rehem the blue ones for friends who don't have sewing machines. if you know how to sew, though, you can do it yourself. ;) i have them marked 5.00 (green) and 3.50 (blue), but i could be persuaded to make a deal.
garage sale is over. phew.

the clothing will go to goodwill, unless i decide to ebay it. the CDs will go to plan 9. the toys will go with another bag of toys to a children's shelter or a thrift store.

sleepiness

ooof... so tired.

we watched x-men (rented it earlier this week, since boy never got to see it) and returned it in the nick of time. used our free rental on the james bond movie, which we'll watch tomorrow, a day we have designated "lazy"... tonight is the Silent Muse show. we're exhausted, but must make an appearance, so we shall. i think i'll wear what i have on now--lace top, short velvet circle skirt, frothy petticoat peeking out, pigtails with ribbons (blue), blue tights under black fishnets, and mary janes. it's not necessarily a club outfit, but it's a comfy one that shouldn't be *too* hot.

it's so incredibly hazy and humid... as we drove to the video store, we could just *barely* see the nearest ridge to the west (15-20 miles). carter's mountain was nearly obscured in a grayish haze--it looked almost like a storm cloud was attempting to coalesce around the mountain. it doesn't feel like a storm yet. i really wish it would break, even if it would be furious... it would also end abruptly, as such storms do. the dawning is going to be very sticky tonight... condensation will drip from the ceiling. maybe i should wear my umbrella hat.

we have a couple hours to kill before the club... we're just resting, then we'll put some stuff away so we can get to the bed. chad will have to deal with a cluttered living room... the couch will be uncluttered, though. ;)
bubble and squeak, bubble and squeak.... how i love that wonderful treat...

okay, enough yaksmas ear worms.

i just ate three chocolate covered coffee beans.

why, yes, i do have a stash. why, you ask, have i not shared these with my friends?

simple. i have to pay 4.50 for 5.5 ounces. i can only buy them during one week of the year, on one visit to a particular grocery store up in MD. my local friends can go down to higher grounds and get a handful for a quarter, or a pound for 7-8 bucks.

i shan't share my soy-free beans, sorry.

i shall, however, be alert.
