stuff

Today I have:

  • had my feet cast for orthoses

  • paid the first deposit for said orthoses

  • eaten taco bell

  • brought fiesta fries home for boy

  • addressed two packages

  • taken both packages to the PO, where they were mailed

  • bought stamps

That's a lot for me. I'm feeling okay, so I'm tempted to mop the kitchen floor. I'm not sure I should, though, since tonight is flyering night. I don't want to waste all of my energy. I also need to start pricing all the garage sale stuff, though I can probably do that while seated and take my time.

[livejournal.com profile] xiane, if you want to have any of your stuff sold, the garage sale is 7a-3p Saturday. If you just give it to me and tell me prices on Friday or so, I can put it in a nice decorative basket and have it out.

We will not be doing anything late on Friday, since we have to be up at an ungodly hour on Saturday. I hope I can get a nap in, since skipping the dawning this Sat night is not an option.

I don't think I'll get those shirts made, [livejournal.com profile] nothingoth. Will you survive?

I decided not to mail my parents' package since I'll see them next week.

We won't have time for visiting friends while we're in Indiana. We're driving out Thursday and coming home Sunday or Monday. That gives us two-three days to visit family. Since my parents live in east central Indiana and my grandparents live in northern Indiana (three hours' drive, one way), we just won't have the time or energy for detours to Indy and such. [livejournal.com profile] absinthea and [livejournal.com profile] blixa21, if you'd like to get together, why don't you ask my parents when we'll be up north? Saturday night is Mooreland (last night of the fair), most likely. I do have to visit Carol, since she had another baby this year and I haven't seen her since Keira was a toddler (our wedding), but she lives a couple miles from Mom and Dad, so the drive won't be an issue.

Of course, if folks feel like coming to *me*, let me know. ;) The Mooreland Fair is a free fair. Rides and food cost money, but there's no entry fee. With advance notice, my parents can make room for cars in the driveway. There's generally a parade on Saturday, but I'm not sure what time.

o_O While looking for online info about the fair, I discovered that Mooreland now has a four-way flasher light at the one stop sign on the main drag. Wow. That's insane. Of course, the article mentioned that the light is *broken*, but will be repaired. Still... a LIGHT in my hometown???

Mooreland isn't a large town. According to the demographics on that site, in 2000 there were six people in town with Master's, Professional, or Doctoral degrees. My parents would be two of them. I guess the vet would be another. I wonder who the other three are? Maybe the other three are teachers. I can think of three teachers who *might* still live in town, but I have no idea if they have anything more than a Bachelor's.

Anyhow. We leave next Thursday. I need [livejournal.com profile] rat_bastard to be here by 10am that morning. He might want to stay the night.

itchiness

I really hate Oral Allergy Syndrome.

I'm reacting to carrots... carrots normally never cause a reaction for me, but now my lips and tongue and throat are burning, itching, and my lips are swelling. :( I'm allergic to birch, which isn't pollinating right now, and mugwort (relatives of which *are*)...

I haven't been able to eat fresh cantaloupe, peaches, mango nectarines, apples, nectarines, bananas, or avocados lately, all because of cross-reactions. I even reacted to tomatoes earlier this week. I guess I need to go back on antihistamines. I went off because going on prednisone for a week made the hives go away. I also went off because oral antihistamines have very little affect on allergic rhinitis, which is one of my main symptoms, and second/third-gen antihistamines don't control my skin reactions well.

Guess they were keeping *most* of the OAS at bay, though. I just made the connection now. *sigh*

Fresh fruit is one of my few joys this time of year. I guess going on meds is worth it.
