Nov. 5th, 2002 05:51 pmmade a good dinner tonight, despite being weak and achy.
i had a pound of new potatoes (red, yukon gold, purple) just waiting to be roasted. i decided to instead make an indian potato dish.
it has a lot of spices--brown mustard seeds, kalonji, cumin, coriander (i can tolerate coriander seeds, but not fresh cilantro), tumeric, garlic... fried in oil (safflower or canola, can't remember)... boil the potatoes, toss in the oil for about five minutes.
and after the potatoes boiled, i reheated the water and tossed in a tastybite packet--baignan bharta (punjab eggplant on the box).
ate with sour cream, because i have no plain yoghurt for making raita. and after the potatoes were done, i put more garlic and a bit of water in the pan and cooked some frozen broccoli. very yum.
boy is happy, i'm happy. a lot of dishes got done between the two of us.

i put stuff for bread in the machine awhile ago. could't find the spelt flour, but it'll still be good.
