May. 8th, 2002 10:45 amyesterday, i took my painkillers just twice... once at 2pm when i awoke and once at 12:45am when i went to bed. okay, so technically the last dose was *today*, but hey...
now if i hadn't spent all day on the couch (with the exception of the half hour jaunt into town and back to stop at the PO and let boy's doctor photocopy the new insurance card), i might've needed more.
woohoo!
of course, my back was awfully sore by the time i *did* take my meds, so i'll make sure to take something halfway between wake-up (12:30pm) and bed (um, whenever) today.
we have loads of birds around here. i put up a thistle seed sock for the finches (just to get them near my porch, really). one little bird keeps taking dirt baths in my spider plant (okay, time to water that one)... my MiL is sending us one of her bird books so i can start IDing them. so far, i've seen a downy woodpecker, lots of grackles and crows, baltimore orioles, robins, blue jays, american bluebirds, cardinals, goldfinches, nuthatches... the list goes on, but there are several here i don't recognize, so i'm eager to figure them out.
i'm going to put up a hummingbird feeder soon, but i want to buy one with perches and no yellow blossoms. hummingbirds like RED, bees like yellow.
now that the trees are mostly leafed out (we have one or two slowpokes, but most are all green and gorgeous), the cows have started eating them. it's amusing to watch. :)
