if you buy seeds now, they might be on sale. then you can put 'em in a baggie with a little damp peat moss and toss 'em in the fridge or the basement over the winter. find 'em in the spring and stick 'em in the ground. they'll come up sooner. it's not necessary to do this, though. i usually just soak mine overnight, then stick them in the ground.

Thank you. I shall look for seeds on Thursday and do as you suggest. Mervyn and Sande have a trellis full of beautiful blue blooms, and then I saw yours in the picture and decided life would be a little better with some Morning Glory in it :).

It's so beautiful around your home.

And so are ya'll.

I haven't forgotten the kind things you said to me about the old lady I met in the ER. It meant very much to me. Balm for my wound.

I must come up there and meet you & Xiane. I have her checking for camp ground so I can bring my little home-on-wheels with me. I love me some campin'.

awww, sweetie. *hugs*

there's a KOA on rt 708 (off route 20 between here and charlottesville) with full hookups and a jellystone on US 250 west of charlottesville.

my parents say the KOA is nice and that's where they'll stay when they visit, but i'm not sure if it's open year round. i can find out. the owner is russian. ;)

Rarr. Reminds me of ruralish bits of New Zealand. We've got lots of that :-)
Not quite so many dancing ladies in our fields though, unfortunately.

That post made my day...the pics are beautiful, hon!! Have you thought of framing them as a set? One long progression showing a great day.

If I lived in that house and that yard, I'd be out there dancing, too! Have you seen those dark red/purple morning glories? Grandpa Ott's, I think they are called. They'd be pretty mixed with the blue ones. I've been trying to grow moon flowers for years so I can have morning and evening flowers, but I've so far not been able to get them to bloom.

I like the idea of framing the photos in a series, very sweet.

And I have two of those hats. :)

ooooh, i'll look for the dark morning glories next year. :)

i planted moonflowers and cup/saucer vines this year, but they need more water than a drought-summer can provide. :/ morning glories seem to thrive in dry, red clay soil. ;)
