Sep. 9th, 2002 01:40 pmlovely weekend.
friday night was spent at a friend's home, eating dinner, watching black adder, and watching boy and friend roll out a character for AD&D. oh, and i also was molested by a couple persistent felines.
saturday, we drove up to dc for Nisa and Scully's housewarming party. much fun was had.
we saw lots of dear friends. jungfroid, fil, and
yurikokinje were there, along with lots of folks who might or might not have journals/blogs. it was good to see everyone and especially good to finally meet scully, nisa's fiance.
(a side note:
explodingcat is currently mesmerized by the big joe polkafest on tv)
on sunday, nisa and scully crept out of their bedroom while yuriko (who i shall now refer to as jonah to avoid confusing myself) and i stretched ourselves awake. i commenced to mock-suffocate boy (he was sleeping with a pillow over his face) until he decided he could wake up. scully went out to fetch donuts, the rest of us chatted. i got ahold of
ashbet and around two, jonah, boy, and i met ashbet and her fiance,
aeporia at my favorite vegetarian indian restaurant over by my old apartment. yum. we went back to andi and kyle's new house after lunch for a tour, chat, and to wait on charlie and kira to arrive. that was very nice. then boy and i took jonah back to his car before heading out to montgomery mall to use a gift certificate we received for our wedding (yes, in 1999).
at torrid, i bought an emily tshirt, a cut-out sleeve blouse, leather mary-janes (on sale), and a swirly skirt (all were actually on sale). i had a 15% off coupon, too, so i only spent 57 bucks! woohoo! we also picked up a cute little book about a cat with a big head at hot topic. then we fled the mall, went to trader joe's to stock up on good frozen veggies and nifty pasta, then realized it was late (AND the sun was an hour from setting, so i wasn't ready to drive west just yet) and stopped off at fresh fields for greens, field roast (can't buy it down here), and sushi (for dinner). a quick stop at giant for ice and we set off for home. arrived home 2.5 hours after leaving the kentlands giant (for those who want to know) at 10:30. we stopped for gas and leg stretching just once.
so, that was my fun-filled weekend. :) it was great. i think we'll probably be having visitors now that folks know i really have mostly recovered from the surgery and that the house is in fairly decent order.
:)
