Supper Time!

I could tell you what we're about to eat for dinner, but most of y'all don't read Armenian or Russian.

I'll tell you in English, then...

Spiced Carrots with Cumin Seeds
Bulgur and Chickpea Pilaf with Tahini Sauce
Pomegranate Broth (Narli Bul'on)

They're all from the same cookbook. now... should be about time to eat.

Sounds delicious! What cookbook?

I wanted to study Russian in High School so I could converse with my grandmother, but my mother wouldn't let me. She said it was too hard.

Unfortunately, that was her take on everything; her kids were substandard, so they should never, ever try. More unfortunately, I believed her for a very long time.

Please to the Table: the Russian cookbook

i don't know how long pomegranates last. i don't have a lot of experience with them.... and your mother was a stinkyhead. how rude of her to dissuade you from pursuing your interests!
