goats and cabbage

Guess who wants an American Fainting Goat?

Yeah, my husband... the esteemable [livejournal.com profile] explodingcat.

To make matters more amusing, he thinks [livejournal.com profile] originalcynic's family also needs them. I'm not sure why. They have dogs which eat anything already.

The only way I have of dealing with him is to sing about candied cabbage, which is highly inappropriate, but quite fun.

Unfortunately, fainting goats probably wouldn't do too well on Melia or my farms -- too nervous, die too easily around predators. They were really bred for meat goats...

*CRIES* MEAT GOATS ARE AWFUL!

Goats are so sweet and cute and lovable!
And goat meat is absolutely disgusting!

Poor goaty goats...

Do you want us to take pictures of our no-eared goat when we go up tomorrow? ^-^

The fainting goats are the source of the "fainting cat" line you may have heard us use about Percy. :)

They remind me of the Narcoleptic Dobermans, being used at Stanford University for research. When they get excited, they fall asleep - feeding time was...okay, I hate to say it, but it was hilarious. They'd get stoked then kind of collapse into sleep.

Sometimes I wish Freckles was narcoleptic. Maybe he'd quit barking at the neighbours trying to, you know, live here :).

Awww, cute. Having a goat that can't run away from you is a good thing.

I dont know why, but that reminds me of something I saw on a documentary last night that mentioned These (http://www.ultimate-exercise.com/bravenewworld.html).

My mom loves and adores fainting goats too. A friend had one, dogs got into the goat's pen, started chasing him/her [I don't remember which]. Goat ran around a bit and then fainted. Dogs were like "hey! Get up! This is so not over!" and just barked and whined at the goat. Friend still laughs.
