my hair is looking dry. i need to re-henna. i don't want to wait for my old herbalist to order it in and then ship it to me from indiana...

i think i'm gonna go buy some henna at whole foods... since i normally stick with neutral henna, this should be interesting. now i just have to figure out *which* of those darn colors is closest to my own hair color.

don't be surprised if i end up with a head of weird reddish goodness. ;) (instead of my current reddish goodness, that is.)

i also have to clean out my car. must attempt to clean up the wine-sickness that a friend left (he did clean most of it up) NYE. ugh.

Do you like using henna? I've been tempted to order some from Lush but a friend of mine said it tends to dry one's hair out and since mine is already kind of dry....

dry out? no way. my hair needs some extra conditioning afterwards simply b/c i've just slathered mud stuff on my head, but one always needs to condition after dyeing. it only needs the conditioning after i wash the hell out of it to get the henna out. ;) that's only one-two days of work.

after hennaing, my hair is smoother and shinier. henna coats the hair shaft. you don't want to use it over recently dyed/permed hair, nor do you want to dye/perm over the henna.

lush sells henna bricks. i'm not sure how to use those.

i want to dye my hair tonight, but i have three doctor appts in the next two days. i don't want to be henna stinky (think rancid tea, loose straw, not bad, just mustyish)...

Hmmmm.... sounds interesting. I've been thinking about it a lot. Of course, I did just recently dye my hair, so it'll be a while now before I can use the henna.

I've been looking at the bricks on Lush and I have no idea how one is supposed to use those. Hopefully they come with instructions!
